Momber CPC Training

Momber CPC training offers Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) periodic training at a North Devon venue or at a Client’s own premises throughout the UK.

The company is led by Paul Momber who has 37 years experience within the transport business from driving 7.5T to car transporters & almost everything in between. Paul has also worked for various recruitment agencies as a driver recruiter until setting up a specialist Driving Recruitment Agency in June 2006, which was sold to a national agency.

During recent years he has become involved with Driver CPC training & has been instructing classes since the introduction of DCPC in September 2009.  He has quickly built a respectable reputation as one of the leading CPC trainers, both with his own clients, and through various Consortiums. Paul puts his success down to his ability to relate & draw on his own experiences both as a driver and as a business owner.

We pride ourselves in offering interactive & fun training whilst still accomplishing the required high level of learning & competency.

What is CPC?

It’s a certificate of professional competence for professional drivers. The Driver CPC is a compulsory requirement which has been introduced across the European Union to maintain high driving standards, improve the knowledge and skills of drivers and enhance road safety. All professional Lorry Drivers (drivers of 7.5 tonnes and above) must now hold a Driver CPC qualification.

When Must I Have Completed my Driver CPC?

New drivers coming into the profession will need to pass the initial qualification to gain their vocational driving license and qualify for their Driver CPC. Then the driver is required to take 35 hours of periodic training every five years from the date they have passed the initial qualification.

All drivers will need to complete a minimum of 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years. The minimum length of each training session is seven hours. This can be split into two parts however the second part must take place within 24 hours of completion of the first part.
Courses for Driver CPC will cover a variety of modules which may include, defensive driving techniques, first aid, health and safety, driver’s hour’s regulations and tachographs.

To complete Driver CPC Training you will need to attend a course with a JAUPT recognised company. Once you have completed each session it will be the responsibility of the training centre to enter records onto a DSA central database.

Drivers will be issued automatically on successful completion of 35 hours of Driver CPC training a DQC (Driver Qualification Card). Drivers that have acquired rights will be able to use their driving license as proof of their Driver CPC status until they have completed their 35 hours training within the first five-year cycle at which point they will be issued with a DQC.
